How I Found the MELT Method – and Why I Now Combine It with Pilates
I’ve always been passionate about movement and fascinated by how the body can heal and strengthen itself through training. As a classical Pilates instructor, I’ve spent many years seeing how Pilates can create control, strength, and body awareness.
But a few years ago, I found myself in a situation that challenged everything I thought I knew about rehabilitation.
My own journey – from hip replacement to ongoing pain
After I had a hip prosthesis (hip replacement surgery) inserted, I did what most people do and began focused rehabilitation. I trained systematically, working on stability, strength, and movement. My body became stronger, and I regained much of the control I had before. And still, I was in pain.
I saw physiotherapists, had scans, and tried different approaches, but the pain wouldn’t go away. I even trained with a skilled physiotherapist who was also a Pilates instructor, and we worked thoroughly with my rehab. Still, the pain remained. In the end, I started to lose heart. I was doing everything right—and everything I taught others to do—but my own body just wouldn’t fully follow along.
That was when I began searching for something new. Something that could help me on a deeper level.
Discovering the MELT Method
In my search, I came across the MELT Method—a gentle yet effective training method that works with the body’s connective tissue (fascia) using special balls and rollers.
After my first class, I felt a change I had never experienced before. It was as if my body became softer, lighter, and more alive. The pain I had struggled with for so long started to let go.
I was completely hooked after that first class. The feeling in my body was so clear that I signed up for the training program that very same day to learn the method in depth and share it with my clients.
When MELT and Pilates work together
I quickly started integrating MELT into my clients’ training, and the results spoke for themselves. Women (and men) who had struggled with pain and stiffness for years suddenly began moving more freely. Some became completely pain-free, while others discovered that Pilates exercises suddenly felt easier and more natural because their bodies had gained more mobility.
I became convinced that Pilates and MELT are a powerful pair:
MELT prepares the body by working with connective tissue. It hydrates, releases tension, and creates space for movement.
Pilates builds strength and stability on top of that, so movements become precise, controlled, and sustainable.
When you combine the two, you get both a strong foundation and a body that moves freely and without pain.
Why I created the Tuesday evening classes
After experiencing the transformation in my own body and seeing the effect in my clients, I decided to bring the best of both worlds together in one evening.
Tuesday evening at Frog Pilates includes:
18:45 – Classical Pilates (strength, control, and stability)
20:00 – MELT Method (releases tension, hydrates connective tissue, and creates lightness)
These two classes are designed to flow naturally into each other. First, we build strength and stability with Pilates, so the body is activated and moves with control. Then we work with MELT, which hydrates connective tissue, releases tension, and gives the body more freedom.
It feels like gathering and strengthening your body—and then giving it a deep reset, so movement becomes easier, more natural, and free of unnecessary resistance.
For you, if you want a stronger, freer body
If you’re dealing with stiffness, tension, or pain—or if you simply want a body that feels lighter, stronger, and more alive—the combination of Pilates and MELT can make a big difference.
I’ve felt the difference myself after my hip replacement. And I’ve seen the same transformation in many of my clients, who suddenly move without pain and with a freedom they thought they had lost.
In our Tuesday evening classes, there’s time and calm to work with your body exactly as it is. Small groups leave room for personal guidance, so you can feel safe and supported all the way through.
If you’re curious to experience what this combination can do for you, you can read more and book your spot here
I look forward to welcoming you and helping you return to a body that feels both strong and free.
